We’re excited to announce that we’ll be partnering with Affinity Plus and KARE 11 for Tech Drive Tuesdays again this summer! Every Tuesday for five weeks, we’ll be at three different Affinity Plus locations around the state collecting used technology. With each refurbishable laptop we receive, Affinity Plus will match the donation and purchase an additional laptop that will be directly placed with a local student or school in need. Together, we can help create digital equity in Minnesota while keeping the used technology out of the landfill.
If you’ve got old tech you want to give new life to or recycle responsibly, check out the schedule and see when we’re at a location near you. We’ve been working since 1997 to create digital equity, and while we’re so happy kids will be back in the classroom, we know that there’s still a lot of technology needs for students of all ages. As Dover-Eyota Technology Director Bryan Berg said:
“We have needed and purchased and used MCFS computers and laptops for more than a decade prior to the pandemic, needed them during the pandemic, and we will continue to need and utilize MCFS computers and laptops into the foreseeable future.” In today’s technological world, one needs access to technology in order to thrive, which every student should have the opportunity to do.
