Being Green: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

RecycleEvery single thing we do has an impact on the planet – good or bad. As individuals, we have the power to control the impact we make and one of the main things we can do is reuse and recycle whenever possible.

With the holidays come more waste. We tend to use more paper plates, plastic utensils and bags. Here are a few ways you can be a little more eco-friendly this holiday weekend:

  • Make use of your recycling bin – if you’re hosting a BBQ or heading to the beach this weekend set up a recycling bin so people can recycle their aluminum cans, paper plates, plastic, etc.
  • Avoid using paper plates, plastic utensils and disposable cups when available. Instead, use water bottles and dishes that can be reused.
  • When you head to the grocery store to pick up all of your 4th of July must-haves, bring reusable tote bags to save a few extra paper bags.

How will you be eco-friendly this holiday weekend?
