Partner Spotlight: Travelers

MCFS Executive Director, Tamara Gillard, and MCFS Board Chair, Steve Bartholet, present Vice President of the Travelers Foundation, Michael Newman, with an award.
Without our equipment donors and funders, MCFS would not be able to do the work it does everyday. Travelers has been an important partner of ours since 2006. Over the past seven years, the partnership has grown and evolved to meet the technology demands of schools and educational nonprofits in St. Paul, where the company is located. Since the partnership began, Travelers has donated more than 1,400 computers, 1,100 laptops and $270,000 to fund a variety of projects in schools and educational nonprofits serving St. Paul.
The donations received from Travelers have helped fund an academic-incentive initiative at Gordon Parks High School, which has improved attendance and engagement levels amongst its at-risk students. Travelers has also been a key partner in our work with AVID, an academic support program provided by St. Paul Public Schools that prepares students for college eligibility and success. Since 2006, Travelers has provided funding that allows MCFS to donate computers to AVID classrooms, among many other projects with a focus on St. Paul.
We want to extend a big thank you to Travelers for its dedication to helping us provide technology access to all students in Minnesota. Click here to learn more about the MCFS and Travelers partnership.
