Award Spotlight: Otto Bremer Foundation

Each year we host an event to gather our donors, funders, partners and supporters to celebrate the successes of the previous year. As part of the program we award three partners who went above and beyond to make an impact in the lives of students in Minnesota and we want to take some time to recognize them here.

The third, and final award we presented this year went to the Otto Bremer Foundation. MCFS offers disadvantaged youth and adults essential computer training that will give them equal footing and specific computer refurbishing skills and jobs readiness training necessary to succeed in today’s technology-based world.

The Otto Bremer Foundation believes in our quest to grow and improve our workforce development programming. This support allowed us to add a program at Washington Technology Magnet School, an additional trainer and to pilot an internship program for the students participating at Guadalupe Alternative Program.

The Otto Bremer Foundation is committed to ensuring economic opportunities and social participation are within everyone’s reach, regardless of race, age and socioeconomic status. The Minnesota Computers for Schools workforce development programs are a perfect fit to provide opportunities to adults and youth in neighborhoods across St. Paul to help those in need become self-sufficient and financially secure.

A big thanks to all of our foundation partners who help us change the lives of students through technology.
