R2 Certified Recycling

MCFS has a no landfill policy. We have responsibly recycled more than 4.5 million pounds of electronic waste since 1997.

We make every effort to reuse and refurbish donated equipment. However, when reuse isn’t an option MCFS guarantees that any equipment that cannot be refurbished is responsibly recycled.

All of the equipment that is recycled is reduced to its smallest component parts and processed in the United States. In order to maintain our R2 certification we undergo a detailed audit every single year to ensure that our processes comply with strict standards.

R2 Certification
R2 Certification requires recyclers to assure that toxic material streams are managed safely and responsibly by downstream vendors-all the way to final disposition and prohibits them from exporting these toxic materials to certain countries.

ISO 14001:2015
ISO 14001:2015 Certification reassures donors, customers and supporters that we provide an environmentally friendly service and we invest in the resources necessary to ensure a more sustainable future.

MCFS is also registered with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Check out our data security practices to learn more about our secure data destruction procedures.
