Minnesota Computers for Schools works collaboratively with schools and educationally focused community organizations to provide technology solutions and skills training to individuals in need.

History
Minnesota Computers for Schools was founded in 1997 under the leadership of Governor Arne Carlson to provide technology to low-income and disadvantaged students. Legislative funding ended in 2000 and the Minnesota High Tech Association Foundation stepped in by soliciting private donations and developing an earned-income business model to establish financial solvency. As the program grew and became more self-sufficient MCFS became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March 2005.
Vision
Improving the lives of individuals in need through access to and use of technology.
