Last year we began partnering with the YMCA Multicultural Achievers – a program that helps African American, Hispanic and Latino middle and high school students set and obtain educational and career goals.
As part of the program, students set goals, prepare for high school, explore post secondary options and participate in college tours. We love programs like this – that help support students to reach their goals – from succeeding in school, to finding a stable job, to helping them prepare for college. To reward their hard work and to help them succeed, we donated 41 laptops to students who are attending college next year or the year after.
Last week, the students took a road trip to Texas where they toured eight colleges, volunteered in the community and went on workplace tours. The students were able to document their trip on a blog using their new computers. You can check it out here.
